Pantone Marsala

This week we highlight Pantone 18-1438 ("Marsala") - Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year.  Marsala and other shades of wine and plum have been popular wedding colors for holiday and winter weddings for years.   The earthy shades within the color resemble a winey red-brown.  Marsala is rich and robust and looks flattering against many skin tones and as an ink choice, against many paper colors.  It is an interesting color on its own and contrasts beautifully metallics, neutrals and pastels.  Shades of Marsala are incorporated into romantic floral motif and paired with metallic gold ink in our popular "Watercolor Wreath" invitation design shown above. For more inspiration on your upcoming wedding, check out Cardinal & Straw’s Facebook and Pinterest pages for your wedding invitation suite or shop…

Pantone Reflecting Pond

Pantone 19-4326 (“Reflecting Pond”) is this week’s 2015 Pantone color choice. This cool color has a lot of depth and as its name suggests, reflects shades of both navy blue and green. Reflecting Pond's rich cool hues make it a beautiful base for a winter wedding color palette and pairs well with bold pops of red floral as well as neutral shades of warm and cool gray. For more inspiration on your upcoming wedding, check out Cardinal & Straw’s Facebook and Pinterest pages for your wedding invitation suite or shop our Etsy site now:

The Great Gatsby Wedding

Travel back to the Jazz Age with this collection in today's Gatsby themed inspiration board. Gatsby style is all about glitz and glamour. This art deco theme showcases gold, glitter, lace, and sequins and harks back to the 1920's while still feeling extremely modern. Pearls, gilded champagne glasses, feathers and flapper accents all make their way into the decor and florals of a Gatsby themed wedding. We loved working on this custom Gatsby themed invitation for our New Year's Eve bride Brandi, incorporating an art deco inspired geometric frame with vintage fonts and metallic gold ink. Pantone Amethyst Orchid

Pantone 17-3628 ("Amethyst Orchid") is this week's Fall 2015 Pantone color choice. This vibrant color is reminiscent of jewels and rich fabrics. Amethyst Orchid is an intriguing shade of purple with bold hues of pink, magenta and violet. Florals in this shade pair beautifully with neutral shades of cream, sage colored succulents and deep purple blossoms. Amethyst Orchid has been a creative and unique yet still popular color choice for wedding palettes this season. We have loved incorporating the color into wedding paper design as well - pairing it with shimmery gold ink onto purple paper and also in more traditional paper suites, using the color as a simple accent color behind the invitation. The color is versatile and works in both statement designs as well…
